By Monica Burres

EditShare, the shared media storage and tapeless workflow solutions technology leader recently announced compatibility with Mac OS X 10.9 for all EditShare shared storage, Flow media asset management and Ark archiving and backup capability.

Mac OS X 10.9 users, or Mavericks, who use Avid Media Composer 7.0.3 and, Final Cut Pro X 10.1 and Pro Tools 11.1 now have the ability to connect to EditShare storage systems, enabling multiple editing streams of uncompressed HD at once.

EditShare provides users with archival and backup tools, and it enables broadcast and post-production professionals with tapeless workflow, essentially enhancing productivity. Productivity is increased through a design encouraging maximized collaboration efforts and media sharing.

Included in the newest EditShare software is EditShare XStream, EditShare Flow, and EditShare Ark. EditShare XStream is ideal for production and editing facilities, as well as news operations and schools with a need for a powerful media and product sharing software. Beginning with sixteen drives, XStream features the capability to increase up to 80 drives, all powered by its own RAID controller – allowing for fast storage.

EditShare Flow is an asset and media management program enabling users to make rough cuts and drag whole clips or entire sequences into their non-linear editing system – without requiring full resolution media.

EditShare Ark offers users an entire infrastructure dedicated to backup and archive, in an energy-efficient manner. Allowing for easy copy and migration of media related files, Ark even pushes notifications of completed transfers and backups.
