The John Cleese Comedy Award is named for the British comedian of Monte Python fame. Cleese knows humor is an incredibly effective learning tool famously declaring “He who laughs most, learns best.” Along with television broadcaster/director Antony Jay, Cleese founded Video Arts in 1972 to produce an extremely successful series of business training films. Describing a character he frequently portrayed in those films, Cleese said “I find it rather easy to portray a businessman. Being bland, rather cruel and incompetent comes naturally to me.” This Special CINDY Award was established in 1989.
Since 1959, the Cinema in Industry (CINDY) Awards has been honoring the best in interactive and linear media. CINDY awards are presented to individuals or groups who produce programming that achieves the highest levels of excellence in production value and message effectiveness.
