JVC Announces New Models of Professional Blu-ray/Hard Disc Drive Combo Decks
By Monica Burres
JVC announced its newest models of professional Blu-ray/hard disc drive combo decks in early April during the 2014 NAB show. Without a PC, duplication and disc authoring is a breeze, JVC proclaims, and Blu-ray and DVD creation can occur directly from live video inputs – ideal for the on-the-go videographer and ENG broadcasters.
The SR-HD1350US and SR-HD1700US are the newest JVC combo decks with 6x dubbing speed and BD-R discs. Users are now able to record directly into a DVD-Video format as well as BDMV and BDAV discs straight from live sources.
Supporting erasable Blu-ray discs (BD-R and BD-RE) as well as DVDs (DVD-R[SL/DL] and DVD-RW), these new units easily duplicate over unprotected DVD and Blu-ray discs.
Both decks feature compatibility with current equipment, such as S-Video and i.Link (IEEE-1394), in which most memory cards can be read through a USB card reader and HDMI. Including a 500 GB hard drive, the SR-HD1700US is compatible with .MOV or .MXF files while receiving external control, ideal for a variety of videographers and editors.
