Proavio Announces New Desktop Storage Solution for 4K Video

Proavio, a market leader in professional storage solutions for content creation, announced the release of the new EB800MS V2 storage platform for 4K media workflows. The system adds a next-generation 12G internal disk I/O design and incorporates a choice of PCI-e 3.0 or SAS-to-Thunderbolt 2 RAID adapters with high-speed SATA, SAS and SSD disks for exceptional performance – providing up to twice the bandwidth of comparable 6G storage solutions.

Proavio_EB800MS_V2According to the company, the EB800MS V2 combines a smaller compact form factor, PCI-e 3.0 or Thunderbolt 2 RAID options with 12Gb/s SAS technology to deliver a superior desktop storage experience. Proavio’s accelerated 12Gb/s modular I/O hardware effectively doubles the bandwidth between the disk drives and host computer, the company says, resulting in data rates of up to 2,200MB/s when used with a x16-lane, PCI-e 3.0 equipped workstation.

Designed with the professional studio in mind, the EB800MS V2 features Proavio’s ZERONOISE ASC (Advanced Sound Control) cooling system. ZERONOISE ASC allows users to reduce the system fan noise during sessions – keeping the creative environment free of extraneous system noise. “We approach product development from a user’s perspective,” said Jon Schilling, senior manager for Proavio. “Although there are many desktop storage options marketed towards creative professionals, the new EB800MS V2 is fully optimized for the 4K user. With fast sustained performance, connectivity to PCI-e or Thunderbolt 2 adapters, ZERONOISE ASC and the industry’s best warranty, the EB800MS provides our customers with the ability to tackle a wider range of projects regardless of their system platform.”

The EB800MS V2 is now available in capacities starting at 8TB up to 32TB. EB800MS V2 systems include a 3-year factory warranty and advance replacement on disk drives and components for the first year of ownership.
